FABIC Poster Collection Discussion Groups – Session 22 – Stop Breathe Squeeze Communicate Skills

Presented by Tanya R Curtis, Senior Behaviour Specialist
Location: Online (Worldwide)

Tuesday 29 October 2024 – 7:00pm – 8:00pm AEST (QLD Time)

Poster 35: Stop, breathe, squeeze, communicate, skills

When a person goes to code red, orange or yellow on the FABIC Behaviour/Anxiety Scale, it is important to offer an opportunity to de-escalate and communicate what took their body higher than blue in a way that is preferred and wanted rather than using their previous non-preferred or unwanted behaviour.

Skills building is only possible when the body is relatively settled and the original part of life the person found challenging can be addressed.
